Jeff Jackson

As a Web Designer, I am usually involved with every phase of a project. A little something I call the becoming.

  • pre production

sit in on the initial sales pitch » meeting with client to discuss strategy and concept » defining a solution and a plan » helping clients organize and produce content » being the main contact for communication during the project

  • production

create design comps » if necessary design revisions » full explanation of site function with finalized design » accommodate last minute changes and receive clients OK to develop » strategize development process » code using css / xhtml / Flash-actionscripting / asp / javascript / xml / ajax » complete site

  • post production

test site » train client to maintain site using cms if requested » launch site

  • *view case studies

who is this guy

This small proportion of web real-estate belongs to me, Jeff Jackson, and here, I showcase some of my work. I'm a Web Designer at bizjournals based in Charlotte, NC. I've been in the design industry for eight years, mainly designing and developing web sites. I have experience with all types of graphic design such as packaging, branding and collateral as well. I've also been known to dabble with video editing and music arrangement.

how i feel about things

design

My first passion is the actual design process... creating and giving life to something with form and purpose... rendering that something from an abstract concept into being... giving that being a face, a personality, a voice to visually communicate. In short, translating a clients business into a graphical representation that best communicates and defines their business goals.

development

Site development has evolved into something I really enjoy especially since I discovered CSS... no more clunky tables.

With that said, I believe in the web standards movement and try to conform to the guidelines that are set forth to make our web a better place to browse.

I can't forget my old buddy Flash. I use Flash in most of my sites.
